BillBanao was founded in 2024 by a team of Indian developers and small-business consultants who experienced the billing frustration firsthand. We watched freelancers pay ₹500–₹2,000/month to Zoho, FreshBooks, and other platforms just to send a simple GST invoice — while many shopkeepers and micro-entrepreneurs skipped digital billing entirely because of the cost and complexity.
We asked a simple question: What if professional, GST-compliant invoicing could be 100% free, with no signup, no ads, and no data collection? That question became BillBanao. Since launch, over thousands of Indian businesses — freelancers, doctors, gym owners, tutors, shopkeepers, and photographers — have used BillBanao to generate professional invoices without paying a single rupee.
Our Architecture: Why Client-Side Matters
Most software vendors in the accounting space want to lock you into costly recurring subscriptions. To do this, they force you to create accounts, store your client registries on their cloud servers, and charge monthly fees to access your own past invoices.
BillBanao takes the opposite approach. We built a fast, client-side web application deployed on global edge networks (Cloudflare). It costs us virtually nothing to serve pages, which allows us to keep the core invoicing engine 100% free forever with zero watermarks.
